Attendance

Attendance to school is extremely important for children to continue to make good academic progress and social development.  At Ashfield, attendance is monitored every half-term by the Headteacher, and every effort is made to ensure that children attend school. The school has a strict attendance policy and work closely with the outside professionals. The school has a duty to inform parents about their child’s attendance and this will be shared with you at the beginning of the spring and summer term.

As part of our drive to improve attendance, staff will follow up with parents where no communication has been given to explain a child’s absence. We also work closely with the Local Authority Attendance Officer (LAAO) to improve attendance of children whose attendance is below 90%.
