At Ashfield all the staff work hard to support our children to be successful and confident life-long learners. We aim to instil an enthusiasm for knowledge which will support and enhance their learning as they progress through school.
We have high expectations of pupil behaviour and we place great emphasis on practical learning and problem solving. We encourage the children to be creative and inquisitive, to think for themselves and develop independence and resilience to persevere when they find things hard. Ashfield children are not afraid to try new things and to learn from making mistakes. They welcome the opportunity to experience the wider world, whether through visits, trips, speakers and through their involvement in sports, the arts. They are encouraged to take responsibilities in school, such as play leadership and membership of the School Council.
As a result, by the end of their time at Ashfield children are well prepared for a successful transfer to secondary education.
